In a stunning CAF Women’s Champions League debut, Edo Queens triumphed over Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC with a 3-0 win at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Sunday, Sports247 reports.

The Nigerian team set the tone early, pressing high and capitalizing on their speed to overwhelm the Ethiopian defense.

The opening goal came swiftly in the 5th minute, with Emem Essien finishing a sharp cross from Folashade Ljamilusi, putting Edo Queens ahead.

Reflecting on her goal, Essien said, “We came into this game determined to show our strength, and scoring so early was the perfect start. I’m thrilled I could contribute.”

The Queens didn’t relent, keeping up the pressure while shutting down any response from CBE.

After halftime, Ljamilusi doubled the lead in the 54th minute, working a one-two with Esther Moses and lifting her shot expertly into the net.

Speaking about her goal, Ljamilusi shared, “Our focus was to keep pushing. The teamwork made it easy—I had the support I needed, and it paid off.”

Edo Queens sealed the win in the 80th minute with a beautiful strike from 17-year-old substitute Chukwuamaka Osigwe, who received a pass from Moses and powered a left-footed shot past the CBE keeper.

“Being able to score was a dream come true,” said Osigwe. “It’s amazing to represent Edo Queens on this stage and contribute to such an important victory.”

The win places Edo Queens at the top of Group B, a promising start that gives them an edge moving forward in the competition.
