Enyimba head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju has acknowledged the challenge that lies ahead for his team in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

Despite facing tough competition, including Egyptian clubs Zamalek and Al Masry, as well as Mozambique’s Black Bulls in Group D, Olanrewaju remains resolute in his determination to guide Enyimba to the knockout round.

The two-time African champions, Enyimba have been pitted against the current holders of Africa’s second-tier club competition, Zamalek, along with the experienced campaigners, Al Masry.

While reacting to the draw, coach Olanrewaju emphasized the team’s readiness to confront this demanding group, expressing confidence in their ability to uphold the club’s legacy while striving to advance in the competition.

Acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead, Olanrewaju emphasized the team’s preparedness to face any opponent, underscoring the resilient spirit that defines the Nigeria Premier Football League club.

“While we might have preferred a less challenging group, true champions know they must be ready to face anyone,” coach Olanrewaju told Flashscore.

“This is the toughest group in the competition, but this is Enyimba FC. We will do everything we can to uphold the club’s name and fight to advance. We know it will be challenging.”

Note that Enyimba are the only Nigerian side who are still campaigning on the continent this season.
