Lagos State FA Chairman Gafar Liameed and Super Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi have donated more cash to Flying Eagles after the U20 men’s team fly past Junior Mena of Niger Republic 3-1 to book a final tie with Black Satellites of Ghana in the ongoing WAFU B U20 tournament in Lome, Togo, Sports247 reports .
In a statement released by the media officer of the team, Sharif Abdullah confirmed that Alh. Gafar credited the team with the sum of 1Million naira while Nothigham Forest striker, Awoniyi who graduated through the Flying Eagles ranks also donated the sum of 2.5M.
This is coming at a time when well meaning Nigerians continue to donate to the U20 Men’s team in a bid to serve as morale boost .
The Flying Eagles have already secured a ticket to participate in next year’s AFCON U20 tournament.
Flying Eagles next take on Ghana on Wednesday as they aim to defend the title won two years ago in Niger Republic.
