The Kwara State Stadium Complex came alive with excitement and celebration as sports stakeholders and fans gathered to honor Mr. Abduliah Yussuf, CEO of Abraysports FC, on his 50th birthday.
In a vibrant display of camaraderie and sportsmanship, a novelty football match was held between Kwara Soccer Veterans and Glamour Football Club.
The highlight of the game was undoubtedly the celebrant himself, who scored the only goal from a penalty kick, securing a 1-0 victory for the Kwara Veterans.
For the Yussuf family, it was a day of pride and joy. “It’s very interesting and delightful to see my son clock 50,” said his mother, Mrs. Alhaji Sikirat Titilayo Yussuf. “It’s a thing of joy, and I’m happy to have a united family.”
Family members shared in her joy, with Hon. Abdulwaheed Gbenga Yussuf, Mr. Yussuf’s brother, offering heartfelt words.
“My elder brother is a sports lover and administrator of Abraysports Football Club, playing in the Nigeria league. We’re celebrating sports, and I’m happy to be here.”
Adding to the celebratory spirit, Coach Bolakele Magaji, Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, acknowledged Mr. Yussuf’s dedication to sports. “Anyone involved in sports deserves recognition. Abray has contributed significantly, and I wish him many useful years and good health.”
Femi Sani, Chairman of Araba FC, lauded the celebrant’s character, calling him “a very humble and easy-going man,” sentiments echoed by the many sports enthusiasts present at the event.
The event highlighted Mr. Yussuf’s contributions to Kwara’s sports community and his enduring passion for football, leaving a legacy admired by both young and old.
