Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel recently shared his joy over Chelsea’s impressive 3-0 victory against West Ham, hailing the club’s forward, Nicolas Jackson, who scored twice in the game.
Mikel Obi who was previously critical of Nicolas Jackson, was swift to acknowledge the forward’s exceptional display, emphasizing Jackson’s dedication to the club.
“Nicolas Jackson’s commitment to Chelsea Football Club is undeniable,” Mikel remarked in his latest episode of the Obi One Podcast.
Mikel was particularly impressed with Jackson’s goal-scoring prowess, describing his two goals against West Ham United as “absolutely fantastic.”
“There is an absolutely fantastic player there, and it’s amazing to see that he’s taking on board what I’m saying to improve”, Mikel Obi added.
He clarified that his previous critiques were aimed at assisting the player in his development rather than criticizing him. “We intend to support and uplift the players,” Mikel stressed.
Furthermore, the Nigerian football legend lauded the overall team performance and specifically highlighted the impactful presence of midfielder Moisés Caicedo. Mikel likened Caicedo’s performance to that of former Chelsea star N’Golo Kanté.
“Moisés Caicedo’s best game in a Chelsea shirt,” Obi said, noting that the Ecuadorian midfielder was “everywhere” on the pitch during the Premier League game.
