NAF Rockets and Delta Queens emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, at the 2024 National Division 1 Volleyball League.
The thrilling competition culminated at the Umuahia Township Stadium in Abia State, where both teams showcased exceptional performances.
In the men’s category, NAF Rockets swept Life Camp VC 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-31) in their final match, finishing the tournament with 43 points, thereby qualifying for the 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

UCEM VC of Enugu State secured second place with 40 points, while LifeCamp VC, former Division 2 champions, finished third with 34 points.
Sword VC of Benue and G-Ranks Spikers of Kaduna finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Katsina United, Safety Spikers, and Kwara United completed the standings, with Oluyole Spikers not appearing for the second phase.
In the women’s category, Delta Queens dominated the competition, finishing unbeaten to claim the championship. Wikki Queens came in second, with Ekiti Queens taking third place.
Defence Spikers claimed the top spot in the National Division 2 League, earning 38 points. They were followed closely by Wikki Spikers, with Ajase Ipo VC rounding out the top three.
In his closing remarks, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod, praised Abia State for hosting the event and urged state governments to prioritize sports development to curb social vices.
Nimrod also commended all teams for their participation and competitiveness throughout the tournament.
