The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed its condolences to Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State on the passing of his wife, Patience Umo Eno.
Recall that Mrs. Patience Umo Eno passed away on Thursday, 26th September 2024, after battling an illness. The late Akwa Ibom state first lady died at the age of 57 and was survived by six children and grandchildren.
NFF president Ibrahim Musa Gusau conveyed his condolences to the family of the bereaved via a statement released earlier today, September 27.
In the statement, the NFF president emphasized that the entire Nigeria Football community shares in the Governor’s grief.
He stated, “We are deeply saddened by the demise of Her Excellency, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. This is heart-wrenching. Our thoughts and prayers are with His Excellency, Governor Eno, and the entire Eno family, as well as their relatives, friends, and the people of Akwa Ibom as a whole.”
Gusau also acknowledged the significant loss, especially during a time when Mrs. Eno’s steadfast support for her husband’s leadership in Akwa Ibom State was most needed.
He offered prayers for the departed soul, expressing hope that Governor Eno, the immediate family, and the people of Akwa Ibom State find the strength to cope with the loss.
