The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially confirmed that Coach Augustine Eguavoen will continue in his role as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

This decision comes following the approval of the recommendation made by the Federation’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee, according to a statement from the NFF Communication Department earlier today, September 26.

Coach Eguavoen will lead the Super Eagles in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya next month. The first leg of the qualifier will take place in Uyo on Friday, October 11, followed by a return leg in Benina four days later.

Having previously led the team three times, the 58-year-old coach recently guided the Super Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a scoreless draw with Rwanda in Matchdays 1 and 2 earlier this month.

In addition to his role with the Super Eagles, Eguavoen, along with the current technical crew comprising Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec, will also oversee the Super Eagles B team for the qualifying campaign for next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Meanwhile, following the resignation of American tactician, Randy Waldrum, the NFF has appointed Justin Madugu to take charge of the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons.

Coach Madugu will hold this position pending the appointment of a substantive Head Coach for the Super Falcons.

The Super Falcons’ next major event is the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco in the summer of next year.
