The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Media Directors Forum has elected new executives to lead its vision of elevating the elite league’s competitiveness and visibility.
At its virtual meeting held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, the forum elected its inaugural officials committed to driving dynamic and ethical sports reporting across the league.
The NWFL Premiership Media Directors Forum is dedicated to transforming the league’s reach through timely, engaging, and value-driven media content. Guided by sports journalism standards, the forum aims to position the NWFL among the most reported and respected leagues worldwide.
In her acceptance speech, newly elected president, Faith Oluchi Meremegbunam (Rivers Angels FC) emphasized the need for rebranding the NWFL through impactful and positive storytelling to attract sponsors and elevate the league’s status in Africa.
“I am honoured to lead this forum,” Meremegbunam remarked. “We are pivotal stakeholders in the NWFL, and through constructive collaboration and insightful reportage, we’ll support the league in securing the recognition it deserves.”
Meremegbunam reiterated the forum’s commitment to working alongside the NWFL, promoting its achievements, and advocating where necessary for improvements that benefit all stakeholders.
The newly elected officers are as follows:
President: Faith Oluchi Meremegbunam (Rivers Angels FC)
Vice President: Humphrey Njoku (Heartland Queens)
Secretary: Chinedu Charles (Abia Angels)
Assistant Secretary: Emmanuel Ochoche Adakwu (Nasarawa Amazons)
Treasurer: Adebiyi Adesoji Aderemi (Remo Stars Ladies)
Public Relations Officer: Muhammad Musa (Confluence Queens)
Welfare Coordinator: Olaleye Oluwadamilola (Dannaz Ladies)
