The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has responded to her recent dismissal from office with a message of hope and resilience.
During her 38th birthday celebration in Abuja, Edu made poignant remarks about the future of Nigeria under the current administration despite her own professional setback.
Her removal was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
Edu, reflecting on her dismissal, stated, “The ark of God will come back,” indicating her belief in a positive turnaround for the nation.
Despite the personal impact of her dismissal, Edu expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, asserting that the administration is capable of leading Nigeria to a better future.
She emphasized that the country is merely experiencing a challenging phase that will eventually lead to improvement and growth.
Edu also seized the opportunity to call for patience from the Nigerian populace, urging citizens to trust the government’s direction during these transformative times.
She said, “And I want to thank God for all of you. Thank you for standing by me and supporting Nigerian youths.
“I would use this opportunity to equally pray for our dear country, and I am confident that Nigeria will be better. I am confident that indeed hopes of Nigerians will be renewed.
“I am confident that God will give the president and our leader President Bola Ahmed Tinubu the wisdom to be able to manage this country. And I am confident that things will change for the better.
“What we want to say to Nigerians is that with more patience, things will begin to get better. We are going through a phase and we’d soon be out of it and everybody will be happy again.
“The ark of God will come back.”
