Nigeria’s two goals hero of the final match of the 2024 WAFU B U20 Men’s Football tourney, Kparobo Arierhi has revealed what was on his mind on his before the kick of the final of the Jollof Derby between Nigeria and Ghana.

Kparobo scored the two goals that won the Flying Eagles the trophy as the Ghanaians fell to a 2-1 loss at the Stade De Kegue, Lome Togo on Wednesday.

The effort won him the man of the match award in the final as well as helped the Nigeria’s U-20 football team, Flying Eagles, to successfully defend the WAFU B U20 title.

Speaking exclusively with Sports247 in Lome, after the match, Kparobo who expressed his happiness for the great feat, said he knew he would score those goals because there was less pressure playing in the final and dedicated the most valuable player award to his teammates.

” I have it in mind, that I will score today ( Wednesday) because there was no pressure and I’m very happy I did.”

The Beyond Limits Football Academy Prodigy says he doesn’t put much pressure on himself going into the final, he just wants to give his best and compete well.

The goals machine, dedicated the Man of the match award to his teammates in Flying Eagles as well those in Beyond Limits for their input in his career growth.

‘ I will say thank you to my teammates and everyone. I dedicated the man of the match award to my teammates in U-20 and my teammates in Nigeria.” Kparobo said.

Kparobo scored a total of three crucial goals for Nigeria in the competition to underline the impact of the talented forward in the squad.

He scored the winning goal against Cote d’ivoire, the goal that qualified the team into the Semi Final and left the competition with a wonderful memory of scoring the two goals that won the trophy for Nigeria on the final day

The first goal came in the 35th minute, with Kparobo expertly finishing off a flowing move.

Kparobo timed the ball, which was delivered from the right flank and powered in the Shot which rested at the back of the net.

Kparobo scored the second goal in the 42nd minute against the run of play as the 17-year-old striker ran free on goal before firing the ball into the top corner.

Kparobo confirmed he has his sight on the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, but then he will focus more on game and continue to grow in the game and career.
