We live in a world where digital transformation is becoming the cornerstone of modern society, creating a greater need for accessible, user-centred design. World Usability Day (WUD) is at the forefront of this movement, empowering communities and professionals globally to prioritize usability in everyday technology.
For the first time in its 20-year history, WUD makes its African debut in Lagos, Nigeria, at Zone Tech Park. This marks a significant moment not just for Nigeria, but for the entire African tech and design community.
Founded by Elizabeth Rosenzweig, World Usability Day has long been celebrated across Europe, America, Australia, and Asia, and now Africa joins the global conversation. This year’s theme, “Designing for a Better Africa,” aims to bring together professionals, government bodies, educational institutions, and everyday citizens with one clear goal: to make the services and products we rely on easier to access and simpler to use.
WUDAfrica’24, hosted by industry geniuses including Joseph Kalu, Somtochukwu Mbamalu, and Robinson Maggie, truly stands out about WUD Africa in its focus on practical, hands-on learning. The event will comprise keynote talks, workshops, and networking sessions. It boasts a stellar lineup of local and international design community speakers.
